Snow. (dun dun duuuuuh!)

Unless you have been living on Mars- or indeed in another country, then you will be fully aware that Britain has, for the past month, been submerged in the 'big freeze'. The biggest 'freeze' in fact since the early 90's...or was it mid 80's...it seems to vary with every weatherperson!
The freeze I am referring to consists of lots and lots and lots of snow. If someone not from this country were to take a glance at the news they would think there had been an atomic bomb unleashed upon Britain due to the mass hysteria that seems to feature every day. And over what? Little white flakes of powder! Come on Britain it's time to man up. Other countries manage with worse conditions than those we are currently encountering; they must have PLENTY of salt! Granted snow comes with its problems but so does every other weather condition, if it was really hot there would be complaints of low reservoirs and hose pipe bans in the south. There's just no pleasing the Met Office is there?
In my view, snow is the best weather condition. It has a way of covering things that are ugly and turning them beautiful, it transforms landscapes and has when undisturbed has something of a calming, hypnotic effect. Snow is obviously the funnest weather to play in, just the other day my friends and I constructed the most epic snow fortress...well it would have been if we hadn't become so cold someone was bound to catch hypothermia. It seems to bring people together as complete strangers engage in snowball fights and sledging and all sorts of tomfoolery! Plus, if it snows just the right amount College gets cancelled and that is ALWAYS a good thing.
So Britain, it's time to get real and face the facts. Snow's going to be more frequent and we can't sit here a whinge about it, that's just anti-productive. We need to stop the scaremongering on the news with talks of blizzards and dangerously low temperatures etc etc. There are worse things that can happen!
