Here's to a New Year, 2010, the year of me, happiness, good health and shed loads of blessigs!
New Years Eve is a time for dancing, for singing, for having that cheeky drink, for eating loads of snacks and- as is tradition with my friends- playing twister.
In my opinion New Years Eve is a time for friendship as afer just spending a good 3 days with no one but your family, could send some people up the wall. A group of friends have the ability to make any situation a million times better, they can make you wish that some moments would never end, they seem to make laughter encroach anywhere. Ooooooh I love my friends!
Of cours New Years is a time for resolutions...and then a week later for those resolutions to be promptly broken. Last year I made a list of 100 things to do before 2009 was out and I can tell you that I completed a grand total of 24...out of 54 because I couldn't think of 100 things to do. Therefore after that EPIC fail I think this year my resolution is to have as much fun as I possiby could! It shouldn't be hard as all my friends decide that fun is the top of our list of things to do.
It took me and my friends a while to get something sorted this year, I only managed to get something organised 3 days beforehand- good old disorganisation! However, this seems to be the case with everyone this year as I would usually not volunteer my dwelling space for recreational use...especially as the parents have just had a brand new cream carpet fitted. The party was enjoyed by all, many many many pictures came of it and one video of a sensational, albeit controversial, twister game. We partied until the lovely hours of 5AM and felt wonderfully awake the next day (well I did, everyone else was quite tired...can't think why!) The only horrible, horrible, horribe thing about New Year Eve is that all the loveliness has to end and people have to go home. This bit makes me sad especially as some friends who came, I only get to see every now and again and unfortunately distance is never easy.
New Years Eve seems to bring people together, much like Christmas does. A time of year to disregard everything unpleasant that has gone that year and just embrace the New Year, I like to think I'm particularly skilled in that area.
All in all everyday should be like New Year's Eve, minus some people's excessive dinking, it should be full of happiess, fun and the thought of a new adventure.
How cheesy.
Happy New year you amazing bunch of people, I wish you and epic 2010!
New Years love and good thoughts,
Sunny!
